Brazil

About the project.
In Brazil's Amazon state of Amapá, this REDD+ project will prevent 3.45 million tCO₂e over 30 years. It combines sustainable forest management, real-time canopy and wildlife monitoring, scientific research, and community development - safeguarding trees, biodiversity, and local livelihoods in one integrated effort.
The REDD+ Project located in the Brazilian Amazon state of Amapá aims to reduce a total of 3,450,278 tCO2e throughout a 30 year period. It combines Sustainable Forest Management, forest cover and biodiversity monitoring, scientific research and local socioeconomic development. Planned, financed and implemented by the proponents Jari Group and Biofilica.
The REDD+ Projects aim to include as many rural producers as possible in the policy of encouraging family farming, with support from civil society organizations.
This promotes socioeconomic development and strengthens regional production chains, improving the well-being and food security of the impacted communities.
